Mission and programs · 2023

Mission

North Carolina Harm Reduction Coalition NCHRC is a statewide grassroots organization dedicated to the implementation of harm reduction interventions, public health strategies, drug policy transformation, and justice reform in North Carolina and throughout the American South.

  • In 2023, NCSU began construction on an innovative wound care room providing self-care supplies and educational materials for the treatment of skin and soft tissue infections and xylazine ulcerations. The organization broadened its groundbreaking community drug checking programming, allowing participants the information to protect themselves from an increasingly contaminated drug supply. NCSU also held multiple trainings for health departments and health and social service professionals on topics such as pregnant and parenting people who use drugs and the hospitalization experiences of the populations NCSU serves through its Narcofeminism Storyshare material, a collaborative autobiographical story development process which disrupts stereotypes and defuses stigma against people who use drugs.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
