Primary exempt purpose

The primary exempt purpose of Glover Park Village, Inc.(GPV): To provide services to our constituents that will engender vibrant aging in the community. GPV provides services, information, opportunities and social services that mitigate social isolation, offer intellectual stimulation, foster a sense of purpose and community, and compensate for abilities that have waned. GPV provides transportation, meals and groceries, opportunities for medical services and information, social engagement, as well as connections to additional services from the DC government and other social service organizations.

  • Social Engagement and Community Building: GPV has robust programs and services that bring people together, mitigating social isolation, end engendering trust and familiarity among the aging community. Volunteers provide stimulating lectures, presentations, social events, exercise, working groups, visits to museums and other historical locations. GPV has provided approximately 50 such instances of engagement in 2024.

  • Services: GPV provides a variety of direct services to service recipients and community members. Our volunteers provide transportation to a wide variety of appointments, errands and other needs. Being able to go to places with a friendly driver who will take extra steps to make the trip direct and timely is a huge service to our community. We also read emails, help people de-clutter, teach individuals how to use various electronic devices and appliances, garden, carry trash to the back alley, provide groups to develop stronger memories, enjoy and engage in arts. GPV provided approximately 500 service-units of this type in 2024.

    Expenses $11,000 · Grants $11,000

  • Communications and Coordination: GPV has invested in software, training, and staff to create ongoing communications with our constituents, notify potential participants about events, programs, services, health issues, and vaccines. These are electronic, paper notices, newsletters, and telephone calls. On a daily basis GPV has calls and visits with Service Recipients, volunteers, event participants, and potential Village participants. Our software provides the infrastructure to communicate, notify, get responses, and track services and volunteer needs. GPV made approximately 6000 such connections in 2024.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. Earlier years are each on their own filing page.

Nonprofiteer parses Forms 990, 990-EZ and 990-PF, in a window of recent tax years. These returns are recorded from the IRS e-file index, so their figures were extracted by that index rather than read from the return here — treat them as a different source from the filings above, not as more of the same record. A dash means the index carries no figure; Form 990-T listings carry none at all.

No itemized grants to organizations. Schedule I is filed only by organizations that granted more than $5,000 to a recipient, so most filers have none.

Auto-Revocation List

  • Exemption revoked 15 May 2018, reinstated 15 May 2018.

Publication 78

Listed as of 13 October 2026, under deductibility PC.

These are two separate IRS files on two separate schedules, shown as published and not reconciled with each other. Neither is a statement about whether a contribution is deductible today: 19,245 organizations appear in Publication 78 while the IRS's own revocation file lists them as currently revoked, more than half of those revoked before 2019. Absence from Publication 78 is evidence of nothing, and presence is not evidence either. Verify current status with the IRS before relying on it.
