Activities or mission (Part I)
WE ASSIST DISABLED VETERANS TO REGAIN INDEPENDENCE AND DIGNITY BY PROVIDING CUSTOMIZED, BARRIER-FREE HOME MODIFICATIONS AND NATIONWIDE ADVOCACY.
-
AT HOMES FOR VETERANS, WE PROVIDE BARRIER-FREE HOME RENOVATIONS TO VETERANS WITH DISABILITIES, HELPING THEM REGAIN INDEPENDENCE AND SAFETY IN THEIR HOMES. OUR SERVICES RANGE FROM INSTALLING WHEELCHAIR-ACCESSIBLE BATHROOMS AND ADA-COMPLIANT KITCHEN ADAPTATIONS TO ADDING RAMPS, STAIR-LIFTS, ELEVATORS, AND OTHER NECESSARY MODIFICATIONSEACH TAILORED TO THE UNIQUE NEEDS OF THE INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES WE SERVE. OUR SERVICES ARE ACCESSIBLE TO VETERANS FROM ALL ERAS, REGARDLESS OF THE CAUSE OF THEIR DISABILITY. THIS INCLUSIVE APPROACH ENSURES THAT THOSE WHO HAVE FALLEN THROUGH THE CRACKS OF EXISTING SYSTEMS RECEIVE THE ASSISTANCE THEY NEED. BY SUPPORTING THESE VETERANS, WE NOT ONLY IMPROVE THEIR LIVES AND HELP PREVENT SUICIDES BUT ALSO ENHANCE THE WELL-BEING OF THEIR FAMILIES, CREATING A STRONGER, MORE INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY THAT FOSTERS GREATER SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC PARTICIPATION. WE ARE PASSIONATE ADVOCATES FOR OUR NATIONS HEROES, ENSURING THEIR VOICES ARE HEARD AND THEIR NEEDS ADDRESSED. AT HOMES FOR VETERANS, WE MAKE IT OUR MISSION TO INFORM THE PUBLIC OF THE IMMENSE CHALLENGES THAT MANY VETERANS FACEESPECIALLY THOSE WHO FALL THROUGH THE CRACKS AND ARE MARGINALIZED BY THE LIMITATIONS OF EXISTING VETERAN SERVICES. TOO OFTEN, VETERANS WITH DISABILITIES, PARTICULARLY THOSE WHOSE INJURIES ARE NON-COMBAT-RELATED OR WHO DO NOT MEET SPECIFIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS, ARE LEFT WITHOUT THE CARE THEY DESERVE. THESE VETERANS FACE A VARIETY OF PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL, AND SYSTEMIC BARRIERS THAT PREVENT THEM FROM ACCESSING THE SUPPORT THEY NEED, AND THEIR STORIES ARE OFTEN OVERLOOKED OR IGNORED. BY ADVOCATING FOR THESE VETERANS AND SHARING THEIR STORIES, WE BRING VISIBILITY TO THE UNSEEN STRUGGLES THAT SO MANY FACE. WE ENGAGE WITH THE PUBLIC TO RAISE AWARENESS OF THESE CHALLENGES, NOT JUST TO HIGHLIGHT THE BARRIERS, BUT TO INSPIRE ACTION. INFORMING THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE HARDSHIPS THAT THESE MARGINALIZED VETERANS ENDURE HELPS TO FOSTER A GREATER SENSE OF EMPATHY, RESPONSIBILITY, AND URGENCY WITHIN COMMUNITIES. IT ENABLES US TO RALLY SUPPORTERS, GAIN FUNDING FOR PROJECTS, AND ULTIMATELY CREATE A SOCIETY WHERE ALL VETERANSREGARDLESS OF THEIR BACKGROUND OR CONDITIONARE SUPPORTED AND HONORED. OUR WORK DOESNT STOP AT PHYSICAL MODIFICATIONS; WE ARE ALSO COMMITTED TO REMOVING THE METAPHORICAL AND SYSTEMIC BARRIERS THAT PREVENT VETERANS FROM ACCESSING CARE AND ASSISTANCE. THROUGH OUR EFFORTS, WE AIM TO ENSURE THAT EVERY VETERAN HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO LIVE A DIGNIFIED, INDEPENDENT LIFE, WHILE ALSO WORKING TO CREATE A WORLD WHERE VETERANS' CONTRIBUTIONS ARE ACKNOWLEDGED AND THEIR NEEDS ARE MET.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. Earlier years are each on their own filing page.

Nonprofiteer parses Forms 990, 990-EZ and 990-PF, in a window of recent tax years. These returns are recorded from the IRS e-file index, so their figures were extracted by that index rather than read from the return here — treat them as a different source from the filings above, not as more of the same record. A dash means the index carries no figure; Form 990-T listings carry none at all.

California fundraising campaigns
Campaigns run by paid fundraisers, commercial coventurers and thrift stores naming this organization, as California published them. Both figures are as filed, and what the first one counts depends on the campaign type — a coventurer or a thrift store files its own sales rather than money collected for the charity. The 990 reports this only as a yearly total, never per campaign.
-
DIRECTELE INC.
$87,268 raised
2020 Commercial Fundraiser
$13,090 to charity
Amounts are as filed and do not add up: a commercial coventurer reports one promotion's whole gross once for each charity that shared in it. A campaign may also name more than one registered charity, in which case it appears on each.
Other IRS files
Auto-Revocation List
Not listed. The IRS publishes this list for organizations whose exemption was automatically revoked for failing to file for three consecutive years.
Publication 78
Listed as of 13 October 2026, under deductibility PC.
These are two separate IRS files on two separate schedules, shown as published and not reconciled with each other. Neither is a statement about whether a contribution is deductible today: 19,245 organizations appear in Publication 78 while the IRS's own revocation file lists them as currently revoked, more than half of those revoked before 2019. Absence from Publication 78 is evidence of nothing, and presence is not evidence either. Verify current status with the IRS before relying on it.
What this page reflects
The registration facts above come from the IRS Business Master File published 13 October 2026 and read 1 November 2026, for every organization at once. Returns through tax year 2024, the newest we have parsed for this organization.
