Mission

To enhance the lives of children and families confronting cardiac challenges by actively engaging in the prevention, treatment, and research of sudden cardiac arrest in children and teens.

  • The Blake Barklage Foundation made the following contributions during the year: *In January 2024, $5,000 was donated to St. Mark's Church to support programs run during the Christmas holiday, as well as provide clothing to homeless individuals. *A total of $165,000 was donated throughout 2024 to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, which specifically supported three initiatives: (1) The Blake Barklage Fund for Cardiac Social Work, which provides financial assistance to inpatient and outpatient families identified by CHOP cardiac social workers as being in need, (2) The Blake Barklage Fund for Youth Heart Watch, which supports the prevention of sudden cardiac arrest in children and adolescents by providing cardiac screenings, donating AEDs to schools in need, and developing emergency response programs, and (3) The Blake Barklage Fund for Heart Camp, which provides pediatric heart or lung tranplant patients or those with pulmonary hypertension the opportunity to experience joy, freedom, and friendship during a week-long overnight camp set in a safe and supportive environment. *Another $5,000 donation made to St. Mark's Church in October provided 500 school backpacks for children in the Frankford community in Philadelphia. *In May 2024, the Blake Barklage Foundation awarded a $500 academic scholarship to a volunteer student from LaSalle University High School who exhibited exceptional dedication and impact at Triest Hall, a 24-hour residential facility for adults coping with complications from neurodevelopmental disorders.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. Earlier years are each on their own filing page.

Auto-Revocation List

Not listed. The IRS publishes this list for organizations whose exemption was automatically revoked for failing to file for three consecutive years.

Publication 78

Listed as of 13 October 2026, under deductibility PC.

These are two separate IRS files on two separate schedules, shown as published and not reconciled with each other. Neither is a statement about whether a contribution is deductible today: 19,245 organizations appear in Publication 78 while the IRS's own revocation file lists them as currently revoked, more than half of those revoked before 2019. Absence from Publication 78 is evidence of nothing, and presence is not evidence either. Verify current status with the IRS before relying on it.
