Primary exempt purpose

The mission of the Iu-Mien Association of Oregon is to empower and uplift Iu-Mien communities throughout the state. We offer vital assistance and support to families, aiding in their transition by providing language acquisition services and facilitating cultural integration into mainstream American society. Serving as a liaison between local and national governmental bodies, we ensure that the unique needs of Iu-Mien refugees are addressed. Additionally, we bridge communication divides within the community and beyond, fostering understanding and promoting the rich heritage of Iu-Mien culture both domestically and internationally.

  • The Oregon Mien Lunar New Year celebration served as a vital cultural touchstone, successfully bringing together over 300 community members to honor the rich heritage and bright future of the Mien people. The event focused on three core pillars: Honoring Mien History Through curated storytelling and cultural displays, the event provided a space for elders and youth alike to connect with their roots. By acknowledging the journey and resilience of the Mien community, the program fostered a deep sense of pride and historical continuity. Preserving Mien Language Recognizing that language is the heartbeat of culture, the celebration integrated traditional linguistic elements into the festivities. This focus served as a call to action for the preservation of the Mien language, encouraging intergenerational dialogue and ensuring these unique traditions are passed down to future generations. Investing in the Future The event was more than a look backward; it was a celebration of what is to come. By engaging the youth and providing a platform for community leaders, the program strengthened the social fabric of the Oregon Mien community. The high turnout demonstrated a collective commitment to supporting one another and building a sustainable foundation for the future.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. Earlier years are each on their own filing page.

No itemized grants to organizations. Schedule I is filed only by organizations that granted more than $5,000 to a recipient, so most filers have none.

Auto-Revocation List

Not listed. The IRS publishes this list for organizations whose exemption was automatically revoked for failing to file for three consecutive years.

Publication 78

Listed as of 13 October 2026, under deductibility PC.

These are two separate IRS files on two separate schedules, shown as published and not reconciled with each other. Neither is a statement about whether a contribution is deductible today: 19,245 organizations appear in Publication 78 while the IRS's own revocation file lists them as currently revoked, more than half of those revoked before 2019. Absence from Publication 78 is evidence of nothing, and presence is not evidence either. Verify current status with the IRS before relying on it.
