Mission

The mission of Angels Place, Inc. is to provide exceptional family support and quality early childhood education to help parents in need and their children become lifelong learners and create a brighter future.

Activities or mission (Part I)

Founded in 1984, Angels Place, Inc. is a comprehensive support center for single student parents and their children. The two Pittsburgh centers offer no pay services including: NAEYC accredited child care, parenting classes, tutoring, assistance with job placement and help with practical needs such as food, clothing and children's equipment/furniture. Using a multi generational approach, this program has enabled hundreds of graduates to find satisfying employment, become productive citizens and look forward to brighter futures with their children. The organization has primarily served single parents who were full-time students, and they remain a priority. However due to the increasing need in the community for affordable high-quality early childhood education and child care, services have been expanded to also include working single parents of low-income, who pay a significantly reduced fee.

  • Early Childhood Education Program:Committed to the belief that every human life is valuable, the vision of Angels Place, is to provide single parents who are low-income, full-time students with the help needed to complete their education, so that they may secure satisfying employment, establish careers and become self-sufficient citizens. These services have recently been expanded to also include working, single parents of low-income, who pay a significantly reduced fee. The Early Childhood Education Program provides no-pay or significantly reduced child care that embodies over 30 years of best practices of education, family and child development to children birth to five years while their parents attend school and work. Using our evidence-based social/emotional curriculum we are providing a framework for our children to enter kindergarten ready to learn with positive approaches towards navigating life. Meeting the unique needs of children and parents facing multiple risk factors, Angels Place provides family support, access to community resources and needed interventions. Our two Angels Place centers are accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and achieved a 4 STAR rating from Pennsylvanias Keystone STARS, the highest rating offered. We are also accredited through Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO). While maintaining said accreditations, Angels Place provides a loving, nurturing, safe and healthy environment that every parent and child deserves.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. Earlier years are each on their own filing page.

Nonprofiteer parses Forms 990, 990-EZ and 990-PF, in a window of recent tax years. These returns are recorded from the IRS e-file index, so their figures were extracted by that index rather than read from the return here — treat them as a different source from the filings above, not as more of the same record. A dash means the index carries no figure; Form 990-T listings carry none at all.

Grants made

No itemized grants to organizations. Schedule I is filed only by organizations that granted more than $5,000 to a recipient, so most filers have none.

Grants received

The 10 largest by cash amount. The API serves every itemized grant.

Auto-Revocation List

Not listed. The IRS publishes this list for organizations whose exemption was automatically revoked for failing to file for three consecutive years.

Publication 78

Listed as of 13 October 2026, under deductibility PC.

These are two separate IRS files on two separate schedules, shown as published and not reconciled with each other. Neither is a statement about whether a contribution is deductible today: 19,245 organizations appear in Publication 78 while the IRS's own revocation file lists them as currently revoked, more than half of those revoked before 2019. Absence from Publication 78 is evidence of nothing, and presence is not evidence either. Verify current status with the IRS before relying on it.
