Activities or mission (Part I)

CREATES OPPORTUNITIES TO CONNECT, GROW AND LEARN WITHIN AN EVER-CHANGING JEWISH LANDSCAPE.

  • THE MARLENE MEYERSON JCC MANHATTAN (MMJCCM) IMAGINES JEWISH LIFE THAT IS VARIED AND ENGAGES MEANINGFULLY WITH ITS VALUES, CULTURE, AND IDEAS IN EVERYDAY LIFE. LOCATED AT 76TH STREET AND AMSTERDAM AVENUE, MMJCCM IS A VIBRANT NON-PROFIT COMMUNITY CENTER ON THE UPPER WEST SIDE. THE CORNERSTONE OF PROGRESSIVE PROGRAMMING IN MANHATTAN, THE JCC SERVES OVER 55,000 PEOPLE ANNUALLY THROUGH 1,200 PROGRAMS EACH SEASON THAT EDUCATE, INSPIRE, AND TRANSFORM PARTICIPANTS' MINDS, BODIES, AND SPIRITS. SINCE ITS INCEPTION, THE JCC HAS BEEN COMMITTED TO SERVING THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY BY OFFERING PROGRAMS, CLASSES, AND EVENTS THAT EXTEND BEYOND NEIGHBORHOOD BOUNDARIES, REACHING PEOPLE AT ALL STAGES OF THEIR LIVES. THE JCC IS GROUNDED IN JEWISH VALUES THAT ARE AT THE HEART OF OUR MISSION AND RADIATES THESE VALUES THROUGHOUT EACH CENTER AND PROGRAM AREA. WE OFFER A JEWISH FRAMEWORK ACCESSIBLE TO PEOPLE FROM ALL DENOMINATIONS OF JUDAISM AND OTHER TRADITIONS, MAINTAINING THE JCC'S COMMITMENT TO INCLUSIVITY. OUR CENTER FOR FAMILY LIFE NURTURES FAMILIES BY CULTIVATING EXPERIENCES WHERE CHILDREN CAN THRIVE, PARENTS CAN CONNECT, AND FAMILIES CAN GROW TOGETHER. WHETHER WITH PRENATAL PROGRAMS, BABY SWIM CLASSES, TODDLER MUSIC CLASSES, DAY CAMP, NURSERY SCHOOL, OR COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES FOR TEENS, WE ARE HERE FOR FAMILIES AT EVERY AGE AND EVERY STAGE. OUR CENTER FOR 20S + 30S PROVIDES A SPACE TO MEET OTHER YOUNG ADULTS THROUGH SEASONAL PROGRAMMING, SOCIAL AND CULTURAL EVENTS, OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES, AND SHABBAT AND OTHER HOLIDAY OBSERVANCES. OUR CENTER FOR MODERN AGING SEEKS TO REIMAGINE OLDER ADULTHOOD IN A JEWISH COMMUNAL SETTING AS A TIME OF EXPANSIVE POSSIBILITY, PURPOSE, COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT, MUTUAL SUPPORT, AND BLESSING. WE SUPPORT OUR OLDER ADULTS AS THEY AGE IN PLACE, AND ARE A PERMANENT VIRTUAL CENTER ENCOMPASSING PROGRAMMING AND SOCIAL CONNECTIONS. WE SHOWCASE FILMS THAT PROMOTE CHANGE AND EXAMINE IMPORTANT TOPICS, SUCH AS SOCIAL JUSTICE, ISRAEL, AND DIVERSE ABILITIES. MOST FILMS ARE FOLLOWED BY DISCUSSIONS WITH FILMMAKERS, ACTORS, AND OTHER SPECIAL GUESTS. WE USE THE UNIQUE VOICES AND MEDIA OF VISUAL ART, FILM, DANCE, THEATER, MUSICAL PERFORMANCE, AND INTELLECTUAL CONVERSATION TO AMPLIFY AND GIVE NEW PERSPECTIVES TO THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTIONS WE FACE AS A COMMUNITY. THE MMJCCM OFFERS A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO STIMULATING YOUR MIND, STRENGTHENING YOUR BODY, ENGAGING YOUR HEART, AND CONNECTING YOU TO A CARING COMMUNITY. BY INTEGRATING CULINARY, AQUATICS, FITNESS, MINDFULNESS PROGRAMS, AND MORE UNDER ONE ROOF, THE CENTER PROVIDES EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO FULFILL YOUR PERSONAL GOALS, INCLUDING A FULL-SIZED POOL, THERAPEUTIC POOL, FITNESS CLASSES, BASKETBALL COURT, AND GYM. OUR CENTER FOR ISRAEL FOSTERS DEEPER UNDERSTANDINGS AND CONNECTIONS BETWEEN THE DIVERSE JEWISH COMMUNITY IN NEW YORK, AND THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL. THROUGH PROGRAMMING, CLASSES, LECTURES, PANEL DISCUSSIONS, FILM, FINE AND PERFORMING ARTS, AND OTHER CULTURAL OFFERINGS, THE JCC IS A RESPECTED HOME OF ISRAELI CONTENT AND A PLACE TO EXPLORE AND GROW. OUR CENTER FOR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY ENGAGES PARTICIPANTS TO BECOME MORE EFFECTIVE CIVIC ACTORS THROUGH EDUCATION, ENGAGEMENT, AND ADVOCACY. WE COLLABORATE WITH JEWISH, SOCIAL JUSTICE, AND CIVIC PARTNERS TO EXPAND OUR PERSPECTIVES AND IMPACT. WE BUILD AND NURTURE AN INCLUSIVE AND ACCEPTING COMMUNITY WHERE INDIVIDUALS WITH VARYING DISABILITIES AND THEIR FAMILIES HAVE OPPORTUNITIES TO MAKE MEANINGFUL CONNECTIONS TO EACH OTHER AND THEIR COMMUNITY. WE SERVE AS A CATALYST AND A LEADER, TRANSFORMING THE WAYS IN WHICH THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE UNDERSTANDS AND INTERACTS WITH PEOPLE WITH DIFFERENT ABILITIES.

The first 25 listed. Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. Earlier years are each on their own filing page.

Nonprofiteer parses Forms 990, 990-EZ and 990-PF, in a window of recent tax years. These returns are recorded from the IRS e-file index, so their figures were extracted by that index rather than read from the return here — treat them as a different source from the filings above, not as more of the same record. A dash means the index carries no figure; Form 990-T listings carry none at all. Showing the 10 most recent; the API carries the rest.

Grants made

No itemized grants to organizations. Schedule I is filed only by organizations that granted more than $5,000 to a recipient, so most filers have none.

Grants received

The 10 largest by cash amount. The API serves every itemized grant.

Auto-Revocation List

Not listed. The IRS publishes this list for organizations whose exemption was automatically revoked for failing to file for three consecutive years.

Publication 78

Listed as of 13 October 2026, under deductibility PC.

These are two separate IRS files on two separate schedules, shown as published and not reconciled with each other. Neither is a statement about whether a contribution is deductible today: 19,245 organizations appear in Publication 78 while the IRS's own revocation file lists them as currently revoked, more than half of those revoked before 2019. Absence from Publication 78 is evidence of nothing, and presence is not evidence either. Verify current status with the IRS before relying on it.
