SLOW FOOD PHOENIX USES SOCIAL MEDIA AND PUBLIC EVENTS TO EDUCATE THE COMMUNITY ABOUT OUR VISION OF A FOOD SYSTEM THAT IS GOOD, CLEAN, AND FAIR FOR ALL ARIZONANS. WE SUPPORT LOCAL FARMERS AND BUSINESSES THAT ALIGN WITH THESE VALUES. IN 2024, WE HOSTED A PUBLIC SCREENING OF THE DOCUMENTARY WE ARE ALL PLASTIC PEOPLE NOW TO RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT THE IMPACT OF PLASTIC ON OUR FOOD SYSTEMS. THE EVENT FEATURED A PANEL DISCUSSION WITH EXPERTS AND A TALK BY THE FILM'S DIRECTOR. APPROXIMATELY 70 PEOPLE ATTENDED, AND MANY SHARED HOW THE FILM INFLUENCED THEIR UNDERSTANDING OF FOOD AND ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES.
