ACTS ON STAGE is a professional theater committed to centering the talents, voices, works and initiatives of People of Color and creatives of faith.

  • THEATER COMPANY: Through Acts On Stage Theater, audiences can expect to regularly experience a season of small to medium cast shows from September to May. This fiscal year, we produced two shows: A SOLDIER'S PLAY in the fall of 2024, and SADIE'S KITCHEN in the spring of 2025. A SOLDIER'S PLAY was written by Charles Fuller, and directed by Isiah Anderson Jr. SADIE'S KITCHEN was written by La'Chris Jordan, and directed by Isiah Anderson Jr.

  • TEEN SUMMER MUSICAL: The Teen Summer Musical is a Signature Seattle program that has lit up the largest stages in the city for the last 25 years. In addition to creating stunning feels and vibes, the TSM serves as an excellent way to instill character and work ethic in our young performers and future leaders. Teen Summer Musical highlights some of the brightest youth stars in summer performances of classic stories with timely social justice themes. In summer 2024, 72 TSM youth performed SNOW WHYTE AND THE SEVEN: EACH ONE TEACH ONE, written and directed by Isiah Anderson Jr., with music by Michelle Lang-Raymond and Cedric Paul Thomas II, and choreography by Koach Crosby.

    Expenses $195,277 · Revenue $80,804

  • RENAISSANCE 20: This spring we re-launched quarterly cycles of Renaissance 20, our young artists development program, led by Sam Townsend Jr. Group Classes in beginning piano, voice, dance, and acting happen throughout the school year. This is another exciting step into our vision to be a new era renaissance where creativity creates change!

  • OTHER PROJECTS: In addition to our traditional theater offerings, we offer video content production services, programs that develop artists (of all levels) in every discipline of the performing arts (music, dance, performance, stage craft, writing, etc.), art-based interactive workshops re: racial equity and social justice and in-the-moment / nimble services such as seasonal events, after-school clubs and artist consultation. This fiscal year our other projects included GET (ACT)IVE, a youth fitness program in partnership with King County Parks, a JUNETEENTH celebration in partnership with Cultivate South Park, and A DOUGLASS DECLARATION, an alternative 4th of July celebration in partnership with The Sound of the Northwest Choir.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. Earlier years are each on their own filing page.

Nonprofiteer parses Forms 990, 990-EZ and 990-PF, in a window of recent tax years. These returns are recorded from the IRS e-file index, so their figures were extracted by that index rather than read from the return here — treat them as a different source from the filings above, not as more of the same record. A dash means the index carries no figure; Form 990-T listings carry none at all.

Grants made

No itemized grants to organizations. Schedule I is filed only by organizations that granted more than $5,000 to a recipient, so most filers have none.

Grants received

The 10 largest by cash amount. The API serves every itemized grant.

Auto-Revocation List

Not listed. The IRS publishes this list for organizations whose exemption was automatically revoked for failing to file for three consecutive years.

Publication 78

Listed as of 13 October 2026, under deductibility PC.

These are two separate IRS files on two separate schedules, shown as published and not reconciled with each other. Neither is a statement about whether a contribution is deductible today: 19,245 organizations appear in Publication 78 while the IRS's own revocation file lists them as currently revoked, more than half of those revoked before 2019. Absence from Publication 78 is evidence of nothing, and presence is not evidence either. Verify current status with the IRS before relying on it.
