2024 The York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office "Shop with the Sheriff" Program began in December 2001. The program strives to serve those children in the York County and the City of Poquoson who, through extenuating circumstances, may not receive any gifts during the holiday season. York-Poquoson Sheriff Deputy Officers and Elementary School Guidance Counselors are asked to submit potential participants and approximately 100 students are chosen each year. The event is usually held at a local store, and children are teamed up with a deputy to assist with their shopping. Santa Claus makes an appearance and refreshments are served. It is hoped to foster a positive experience with law enforcement personnel for these children.

2024 The purpose of this grant is to support the York-Poquoson K9 Unit which increases the rate of success for apprehending criminals, as well as locating and eliminating dangerous illegal drugs and weapons. Each canine has a special function that makes them an asset to the community. K9 Grit and K9 Bado are patrol/narcotics canines, K9 Ghost and K9 Nitro are patrol/explosive canines, and K9 Sarge is a skilled single-purpose tracking canine. This means that the canines are able to track/apprehend criminals, track/locate missing endangered persons, locate hidden narcotics and firearms, and locate evidentiary articles that can lead to a successful suspect identification and prosecution. The K9 Handlers that train and deploy with these dogs everyday must be ready to respond to any call. To serve approximately 72,000 citizens of York County, as well as 12,000 citizens of Poquoson special food, medical and vet care, specific equipment and training environments, and education courses are required

Auto-Revocation List
Not listed. The IRS publishes this list for organizations whose exemption was automatically revoked for failing to file for three consecutive years.
Publication 78
Listed as of 13 October 2026, under deductibility PC.
These are two separate IRS files on two separate schedules, shown as published and not reconciled with each other. Neither is a statement about whether a contribution is deductible today: 19,245 organizations appear in Publication 78 while the IRS's own revocation file lists them as currently revoked, more than half of those revoked before 2019. Absence from Publication 78 is evidence of nothing, and presence is not evidence either. Verify current status with the IRS before relying on it.
