Mission and programs · 2023

Mission

TO OPERATE HOSPITAL FACILITIES FOR THE DELIVERY OF HOSPITAL AND RELATED HEALTH CARE SERVICES, HEALTH RELATED EDUCATION, AS WELL AS THE PROMOTION OF HEALTH AND WELLNESS, WITHOUT REGARD TO RACE, CREED, COLOR, SEX OR FINANCIAL CIRCUMSTANCE.

Activities or mission (Part I)

TO OPERATE AN ACUTE CARE HOSPITAL THAT PROVIDES MEDICAL CARE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN ELLINWOOD, KANSAS AND THE SURROUNDING RURAL COMMUNITIES.

  • Ellinwood District Hospital's (EDH) primary program is the delivery of healthcare and related services to patients from our district and the surrounding area. Services include inpatient acute, skilled swing-bed, and intermediate swing-bed care services along with outpatient services. During 2024, EDH completed several projects to increase the quality of service or safety to our patients and residents. 1) We moved into our New Hospital that was on our 2021 Community Health Needs Assessment for an Improved Hospital Facility. The process entailed applying for a USDA Grant to make sure we didn't increase district taxes. During the process of design, the new facility we also had to decide what equipment we would be able to replace and what equipment could move to the new facility with us. 2) In 2024 EDH restructured our ER schedule again, due to increase use of ER in our new facility. We had to add another ER RN position. This added an additional position to our Nursing schedule, but in doing so we believe we can better serve our community. This position also covers our outpatient treatments performed by nursing. This makes sure the ER patients and outpatients get the full attention they need while in our facility.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.
