Charity Hardship Fund: AF operates a program called Charity Hardship Fund, which provides support to its constituency churches. Loans are provided to help churches manage large financial needs within their own church alms and medical funds. Loans are short-term (generally not more than 2 year terms) and are extended either interest-free or at low interest. As loans are repaid, the funds recycle into new support loans for other churches. As of its current year-end, AF had 20 outstanding hardship loans totaling $2,701,862.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
