Mission

The mission of the YMCA of Central Texas is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. At the YMCA, our cause is Strengthening Communities and we strive to make a positive impact by offering programs that focus on nurturing the potential in kids, promoting healthy living for all and fostering social responsibility. Through all of our programming, we promote our five character values of caring, faith, honesty, respect and responsibility. The purpose of our corporation is, as a non-profit charity, to serve the Greater Williamson County, Northern Travis County, McLennan County, Southern Bell County and Burnet County by promoting and carrying out the Mission of the YMCA, supporting the Cause of Strengthening Community with focus on Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility.

  • YOUTH DEVELOPMENT: THE YMCA OF CENTRAL TEXAS OFFERS QUALITY CHILD CARE PROGRAMS THAT ENCOURAGE LEARNING FOR CHILDREN THROUGH A STIMULATING ENVIRONMENT. OUR YMCA ALSO PROVIDES A SAFE, NURTURING ENVIRONMENT FOR ALL CHILDREN BY PROMOTING HEALTHY CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT OF SPIRIT, MIND AND BODY. TO MEET THESE GOALS, OUR PROGRAM INCORPORATES THE Y'S CORE VALUES - CARING, HONESTY, RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY AND FAITH - AS WELL AS THE 40 DEVELOPMENTAL ASSETS SET FORTH BY THE SEARCH INSTITUTE AND THE EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING MODEL. WE WORK COLLABORATIVELY WITH FAMILIES, COMMUNITIES, AGENCIES, AND SCHOOL DISTRICTS TO ENSURE THAT EACH CHILD RECEIVES A CONSISTENT SET OF LIFE SKILLS FOR SUCCESS. WE PARTNER WITH SEVEN LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND OTHER NON-PROFITS AND AGENCIES SUCH AS THE VARIOUS EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATIONS FOR THE SCHOOL DISTRICTS, GREATER ROUND ROCK COMMUNITY FOUNDATION, AND THE CITIES OF ROUND ROCK, HUTTO, LEANDER, CEDAR PARK, GEORGETOWN, WACO AND BURNET AND SURROUNDING COUNTIES. WORKING WITH THESE AGENCIES GIVES US MORE OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO PEOPLE WHO OTHERWISE WOULD HAVE FACED ECONOMIC BARRIERS TO PARTICIPATE IN THESE QUALITY YMCA PROGRAMS. AT THE YMCA, WE BELIEVE THE VALUES AND SKILLS LEARNED EARLY ON ARE VITAL BUILDING BLOCKS FOR QUALITY OF LIFE AND FUTURE SUCCESS. MOST IMPORTANTLY, CHILDREN LEARN HOW TO BE THEIR BEST SELVES. THAT MAKES FOR CONFIDENT KIDS TODAY, AND CONTRIBUTING AND ENGAGED ADULTS TOMORROW. ALMOST 40,000 CHILDREN WERE SERVED IN 2023 IN OUR CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER, AFTERSCHOOL CARE, CAMPS, AND OTHER PROGRAMS.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.
