Mission and programs · 2022

Mission

Imagine LA is a nonprofit organization working to end the cycle of family poverty and homelessness by preventing first-time and repeat homelessness and equipping families to maintain housing stability and thrive long-term. Together with families we transform lives through a holistic combination of clinical case management, economic mobility pathways, and whole-family mentorship.

Activities or mission (Part I)

Imagine LAs mission is to end the cycle of family homelessness and poverty.

  • Imagine LA works with highly vulnerable whole families across Los Angeles County who are establishing their pathways to stability, including newly housed families and those who have recently experienced homelessness. Each of our families has faced challenges because of COVID-19, including income loss, navigating distance learning, and stress from family life during a public health crisis. All of the families we serve are very low-income; at intake, all are at or below 30% area median income (AMI). 86% of the families we serve are led by unpartnered women, and 84% of families identify as BIPOC. Through Imagine LAs Social Benefit Calculator, we will also serve families, individuals, and their case managers across LA County.See Schedule O for more details.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.
