Form 990 for tax year 2022

Filed by LUCKY DUCK FOUNDATION.

This return was superseded by a later amendment. matched by us It is kept because history is preserved rather than replaced.

What the amendment changed

Compared with the latest return for 2022 , filed 31 October 2023. matched by us Only the return's totals, a 990-PF's accounting method and the names listed in Part VII (Part VIII on a 990-PF) are compared. We relate returns by organization, tax year and form, and order them by each return's own timestamp; the filer's own "amended return" checkbox is a separate fact.

Those are the same on the two returns, so the amendment changed something else.

Mission and programs · 2022

Mission

The Lucky Duck Foundation is committed to immediately alleviating the suffering of homeless individuals and families across San Diego County.

  • HOMELESS INITIATIVE:Since 2005, the Foundation has raised funds and awareness for various charitable causes. As the achievements of the Foundation grew, so did its goals. The Foundation recognized the opportunity to concentrate its efforts in one area to make a more substantial impact. The growing homelessness epidemic in San Diego County led the Foundation to focus solely on providing aid and relief for individuals and families living on the streets of San Diego County. Since 2017, the Foundation has concentrated its fundraising efforts on supporting and activating high-impact programs dedicated to alleviating the suffering of homelessness.Year-round fundraising is crucial to the Foundations ability to support homeless outreach, advocacy organizations, supportive programs as well as facilitate the purchase of whatever is necessary to lessen the struggles associated with homelessness. For example, the Foundation created an employment and job training initiative; supported outreach programs linking people to critical services; dedicated resources to actionable research to identify best-in-class strategies; established strategic collaborations to maximize resources, expertise, and outcomes; and more. Additionally, the Foundation has purchased everything from small daily necessities included in the Community Care Kits to large-scale industrial tent structures that serve as shelters.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.
