Mission and programs · 2025
Mission
ACLTRG serves as the central coordinating hub for long-term recovery in Avery County, aligning nonprofit organizations, faith-based partners, volunteers, public agencies, and funders to reduce duplication, maximize resources, and ensure that recovery efforts respond directly to community-identified needs. Through coordinated case management, housing repair and reconstruction, accessibility improvements, and stabilization support, we help residents move from prolonged displacement toward safety, dignity, and stability.
-
During 2025, ACLTRG served 166 households, delivering critical recovery assistance including: * Completion of 21 home repair projects * Completion of 22 culvert and driveway stabilization projects * Completion of 12 debris removal projects * Completion of 7 well and septic system repairs * Provision of additional services such as mold remediation, demolition, and safety-related repairs At year-end, 58 active cases remained in progress, including roof replacements, grading and drainage improvements, culvert installations, and accessibility modifications.
Expenses $165,872
-
In response to severe winter weather events, ACLTRG provided emergency and supplemental assistance to support household stability, including: * Distribution of 980 pounds of propane * Provision of $500 in gas and kerosene vouchers * Distribution of $1,300 in food assistance cards
Expenses $2,416
-
To address post-repair stabilization needs, ACLTRG coordinated the provision of essential household furnishings and appliances for families transitioning into rebuilt or repaired homes. During 2025: * 18 homes were fully furnished * 10 additional homes were scheduled for completion
Expenses $80,300
-
The program prioritizes resilience-based recovery strategies, incorporating improvements that enhance durability, accessibility, and long-term safety. These efforts reduce future disaster vulnerability and strengthen the overall housing stock within the community. Capacity and Administrative expenses are necessary to operate this program. Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
