Mission

SINCE 2014, THE TRPLF HAS BEEN PLANNING AND BUILDING A NEW, AMBITIOUS KIND OF PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY. OTHERS TELL THE STORY OF A SINGLE INDIVIDUAL, BUT THE TRPL WILL DO MORE THAN PRESERVE HISTORY. THIS WILL BE A PEOPLE'S LIBRARY, BRINGING ROOSEVELT'S VALUES AND RELENTLESS SPIRIT TO LIFE AT A CRITICAL TIME WHILE CHAMPIONING THE STORIES OF ALL WHO "DARE GREATLY, THINK BOLDLY, CARE DEEPLY, AND LIVE PASSIONATELY." THE LIBRARY IS BEING CONSTRUCTED IN MEDORA, ND, WITH A MILESTONE PLANNED FOR AMERICA'S 250TH ANNIVERSARY. PARTICIPANTS AT THE TRPL WILL LEARN FROM NOT JUST ABOUT ROOSEVELT, BEING TRANSFORMED IN THE SAME BADLANDS THAT SERVED AS THE FULCRUM IN HIS LIFE STORY.GUIDED BY PILLAR PRINCIPLES OF LEADERSHIP, CITIZENSHIP, AND CONSERVATION, THE TRPLF HAS PARTNERED WITH INNOVATIVE PARTNERS ON THE MOST SUSTAINABLE PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY AND CAMPUS EVER, A REVOLUTIONARY APPROACH TO INTERPRETIVE DESIGN, AND PROGRAMMING THAT WILL SPREAD THE LIBRARY'S MESSAGE BEYOND ITS WALLS.

  • AT THE CORE OF THE FOUNDATION'S MISSION TO EXPLORE THEODORE ROOSEVELT'S LIFE, LEGACY, AND ENDURING RELEVANCE SITS THE DEVELOPMENT OF A PHYSICAL PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY AND MUSEUM IN MEDORA, NORTH DAKOTA, AND THE CREATION OF A PROGRAMMING PLATFORM THAT PROMOTES LEADERSHIP, CITIZENSHIP, AND CONSERVATION BEYOND THE BUILDING IN THE BADLANDS. IN 2023, THE FOUNDATION COMPLETED THE FINAL ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN OF THE BUILDING AND CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT OF THE LANDSCAPE DESIGN OF THE SURROUNDING SITE, AND INTERPRETIVE DESIGN OF THE MUSEUM'S EXHIBITS. Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.
