Mission

Our Friends Place is dedicated to helping young women break the generational cycles of abuse, neglect, poverty and homelessness through empowering self-reliance and independence.

  • Transitional Living Centers (TLC)Our Friends Place operates two Transitional Living Centers (TLC) Beazley House (est. 1992) and Pauline's Place (est. 2015) in Old East Dallas, providing safe, stable housing and comprehensive on-site support for single women ages 18-24 who are experiencing homelessness. Each site offers three furnished apartments with private bedrooms and shared living spaces, serving up to 18 residents total. Residents receive individualized case management, goal development and service planning from on-site managers. Program requirements include weekly case management meetings, enrollment in education or vocational training, part- or full-time employment and saving a minimum of 10 percent of earned income. Weekly life skills groups address workforce readiness, financial literacy, housing stability, resource navigation and goal setting. Residents also participate in off-site professional and social experiences to build social capital. In 2025, 35 women participated in the TLC program; residents lived in the program an average of 209 days, saved an average of $850 and earned an average of $15.15 per hour (Our Friends Place, 2025 Annual Report).SOAR to Success Non-Residential Prevention and Education ProgramSOAR to Success (Strengths, Opportunities, Allies and Resiliency) is a non-residential prevention and education program serving youth ages 12-24 who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, housing instability, abuse, neglect and poverty. Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
