Mission

A Greener World empowers sustainable solutions in agriculture, promoting and supporting real-life farming models to the public and offering farmers and ranchers practical guidance, resources and support on achieving truly sustainable farming systems. A Greener World's mission has four key components: 1. To identify and promote agricultural systems that have a positive impact on the environment, society and animals wild and farmed 2. To educate consumers about the environmental, social and animal outcomes of their food purchasing decisions 3. To establish and promote trusted farm certification programs that help reconnect the consumer and food producer by encouraging, and rewarding, positive farm management changes 4. To support independent farmers who are committed to sustainable livestock production.

Activities or mission (Part I)

AGW envisions a world where farming benefits people, animals and the environment through integrity and transparency. A Greener World identifies, audits, certifies and promotes practical, sustainable farming systems by supporting farmers and ranchers and informing consumers. AGW's growing family of trusted certification programs are designed to have positive and measurable impacts on the environment, society and animals, and to encourage truly sustainable farming practices. AGW's standards and procedures are robust, transparent and achievable.

  • Certified Animal Welfare Approved by AGW is an independent, nonprofit farm certification program and food label. Animal Welfare Approved is the only farm certification that guarantees all animals are raised outdoors on pasture or range, ensuring high-welfare management and truly sustainable agricultural practices. No other food label offers these distinctions. AGW is the only farm animal welfare certifier in the U.S. accredited to ISO/IEC Guide 17065, providing the highest level of oversight and scrutiny for the programs in its scope.

    Expenses $1,284,750

  • Certified Regenerative by AGW is the only ISO/IEC Guide 17065-accredited certification in North America that provides a holistic assurance of continual improvement, measuring real change in partnership to benefit soil, water, air, biodiversity, infrastructure, animal welfare and social responsibility. This innovative program functions as a management tool, verifying farms are meeting initial rigorous sustainability standards and making continual improvement through documented, audited regenerative planning.

    Expenses $321,187

  • Certified Grassfed by AGW is the only certification and logo in the U.S. and Canada that guarantees food products come from animals fed a 100 percent grass and forage diet and raised outdoors on pasture and range according to the highest welfare standards in the industry, Certified Animal Welfare Approved by AGW.

    Expenses $170,040

  • Certified Non-GMO by AGW is the only certification in North America that helps consumers avoid genetically modified food ingredients and support high-welfare, environmentally sustainable animal husbandry. Available to farmers, ranchers and food producers, the Certified Non-GMO by AGW label guarantees production without genetically engineered/modified feed, supplements or ingredients, and ensures animals are raised according to the highest welfare standards in the industry, Certified Animal Welfare Approved by AGW.

    Expenses $113,360

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. Earlier years are each on their own filing page.

Nonprofiteer parses Forms 990, 990-EZ and 990-PF, in a window of recent tax years. These returns are recorded from the IRS e-file index, so their figures were extracted by that index rather than read from the return here — treat them as a different source from the filings above, not as more of the same record. A dash means the index carries no figure; Form 990-T listings carry none at all.

Grants made

No itemized grants to organizations. Schedule I is filed only by organizations that granted more than $5,000 to a recipient, so most filers have none.

Grants received

The 10 largest by cash amount. The API serves every itemized grant.

Auto-Revocation List

Not listed. The IRS publishes this list for organizations whose exemption was automatically revoked for failing to file for three consecutive years.

Publication 78

Listed as of 13 October 2026, under deductibility PC.

These are two separate IRS files on two separate schedules, shown as published and not reconciled with each other. Neither is a statement about whether a contribution is deductible today: 19,245 organizations appear in Publication 78 while the IRS's own revocation file lists them as currently revoked, more than half of those revoked before 2019. Absence from Publication 78 is evidence of nothing, and presence is not evidence either. Verify current status with the IRS before relying on it.
