AS AN AWARD-WINNING AFFORDABLE HOUSING BUILDER, BRHFH IS COMMITTED TO CONSTRUCTING HIGH-QUALITY, ENERGY-EFFICIENT, AND SUSTAINABLE HOMES THAT ARE NOT ONLY AFFORDABLE TO PURCHASE BUT ALSO ECONOMICAL TO MAINTAIN. AMID RISING CONSTRUCTION COSTS, BRHFH UTILIZES GRANTS AND DONOR SUPPORT TO HELP KEEP HOME SALE PRICES AFFORDABLE FOR FAMILIES. THE NATIONWIDE INCREASE IN HOME PRICES HAS PRICED MANY LOW-TO-MODERATE-INCOME FAMILIES OUT OF THE MARKET. BRHFH ADDRESSES THIS CHALLENGE BY OFFERING AFFORDABLE HOMEOWNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH FUNDS RAISED VIA DONATIONS AND GRANTS. • HOME REPAIR AND AGING IN PLACE PROGRAM: BFHFH'S HOME REPAIR AND AGING IN PLACE PROGRAMS ASSISTS LOW-INCOME HOMEOWNERS, PARTICULARLY VETERANS AND SENIORS, WHO FACE CHALLENGES IN MAINTAINING THEIR HOMES DUE TO AGE, DISABILITY, AND/OR FINANCIAL CONSTRAINTS. THE PROGRAM FOCUSES ON CRITICAL HEALTH AND SAFETY REPAIRS, SUCH AS ROOF REPLACEMENTS, PORCH AND ENTRYWAY REPAIRS, AND ACCESSIBILITY MODIFICATIONS LIKE RAMP INSTALLATIONS. MAINTAINING A HOME IS CRUCIAL FOR LOW-INCOME SENIORS, AS IT PROVIDES THEM WITH STABILITY, INDEPENDENCE, AND A SENSE OF BELONGING IN THEIR COMMUNITIES. AGING IN PLACE ALLOWS SENIORS TO REMAIN IN FAMILIAR SURROUNDINGS, WHICH CAN SIGNIFICANTLY ENHANCE THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE AND EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING. HOWEVER, MANY FACE SUBSTANTIAL CHALLENGES, INCLUDING FIXED INCOMES THAT LIMIT THEIR ABILITY TO AFFORD NECESSARY REPAIRS AND MODIFICATIONS, SUCH AS INSTALLING GRAB BARS, FIXING LEAKS, OR IMPROVING ACCESSIBILITY. ADDITIONALLY, PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS AND HEALTH ISSUES CAN MAKE HOME MAINTENANCE DIFFICULT. WITHOUT ADEQUATE SUPPORT, THESE CHALLENGES CAN LEAD TO UNSAFE LIVING CONDITIONS, INCREASED STRESS, AND EVEN THE NEED TO RELOCATE TO ASSISTED LIVING FACILITIES. ADDRESSING THESE BARRIERS IS ESSENTIAL TO ENSURE THAT LOW-INCOME SENIORS CAN SUCCESSFULLY AGE IN PLACE WHILE MAINTAINING THEIR DIGNITY AND INDEPENDENCE. BRHFH COLLABORATES WITH VOLUNTEERS, LOCAL BUSINESSES, SUBCONTRACTORS, AND OTHER NON-PROFITS TO POOL RESOURCES AND COMPLETE REPAIRS THAT SUPPORT HOMEOWNERS TO AGE IN PLACE. BRHFH IS COMMITTED TO CONTINUING TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY, DEMONSTRATING OUR ONGOING DEDICATION TO SUPPORTING VULNERABLE HOMEOWNERS AND CREATING SAFER, MORE SUSTAINABLE LIVING ENVIRONMENTS.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. Earlier years are each on their own filing page.

Nonprofiteer parses Forms 990, 990-EZ and 990-PF, in a window of recent tax years. These returns are recorded from the IRS e-file index, so their figures were extracted by that index rather than read from the return here — treat them as a different source from the filings above, not as more of the same record. A dash means the index carries no figure; Form 990-T listings carry none at all.

Grants made

No itemized grants to organizations. Schedule I is filed only by organizations that granted more than $5,000 to a recipient, so most filers have none.

Grants received

Taxable family

From Schedule R Parts I, III and IV: entities that legally are the filer, and taxable partnerships, corporations and trusts it is related to. These record ownership and control, not shared board members or money.

Auto-Revocation List

Not listed. The IRS publishes this list for organizations whose exemption was automatically revoked for failing to file for three consecutive years.

Publication 78

Not present in the most recent drop.

These are two separate IRS files on two separate schedules, shown as published and not reconciled with each other. Neither is a statement about whether a contribution is deductible today: 19,245 organizations appear in Publication 78 while the IRS's own revocation file lists them as currently revoked, more than half of those revoked before 2019. Absence from Publication 78 is evidence of nothing, and presence is not evidence either. Verify current status with the IRS before relying on it.
