Mission
The Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault is a statewide coalition driving transformative culture change to address sexual violence through advocacy, prevention, racial justice, and systems change. We envision a world free of sexual violence in which all human beings are treated with dignity and respect and communities are transformed through safety, healing, and partnerships.

Sexual Violence Justice Institute: The Sexual Violence Justice Institute provides expertise in criminal justice and community response to sexual violence. Systems changein protocol, procedures, and routine practiceis a key element in improving the response to sexual violence. We work with communities to create a comprehensive, victim-centered response through multidisciplinary collaborations, leadership development, training, and technical assistance. As a state and national technical assistance provider for Minnesota Office of Justice Programs and the Office of Violence Against Women, we share our decades of experience to increase knowledge and improve how responders work with victims/survivors and each other. We provide specialized support across the nation and US territories for sexual assault response teams, rural grantees, and sexual assault specific funding for STOP Administrators, teams considering Case File Review, Minnesota SART Collaboration Project, and leaders conducting evaluation or needs assessment.

Prevention: MNCASA is a key leader in the primary prevention of sexual violence in Minnesota. We utilize three key strategies: providing training and technical assistance to build statewide capacity to prevent sexual violence, informing policies and practices at both the state and local levels, and mobilizing community members to help make the prevention of sexual violence an urgent priority. Members have access to sexual violence primary prevention funding, evaluation assistance, tools, resources, and other strategies to enhance their programming. MNCASA has decades-long partnerships with the Minnesota Department of Health and Minnesota Office of Justice Programs to implement and build statewide capacity for the primary prevention of sexual violence. Primary prevention support includes implementation of the Rosemary Project, 12 sub-grant recipients part of the Community Prevention Partnerships Program, cohosting statewide Sexual Violence Prevention Network meetings, assistance in statewide health standards development, prevention mini-grants for membership, the Messaging Report for advancing sexual violence prevention education, and overall prevention and evaluation capacity building expertise.

Advocacy: MNCASA provides support for the improvement of sexual assault advocacy services of Partner Programs. MNCASA supports and assists sexual assault advocacy programs and other professionals and communities throughout the state. With over 65 partner programs providing services to sexual assault survivors, 20 ally program members, and over 200 individual members, our primary goal is to be a catalyst in changing society's attitudes toward sexual violence and the systems, policies, and procedures that may further victimize survivors, including survivors of sexual exploitation and trafficking. Our members receive tools, resources, and training each year to improve the effectiveness of anti-sexual violence programs in Minnesota. Key events to support our members include the 40-hour sexual assault advocacy training, the 40-hour sexual assault train-the-trainer curriculum, annual training symposium, legal advocacy training, program executive directors and advocates meetings, and regional meetings to plan and organize emerging issues in the field. Areas of training have included advocacy services for justice-involved survivors through the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA), reproductive justice, survivors of state-sanctioned violence, trafficking survivors, and more.
Expenses $437,611
-
Medical Forensic Program: MNCASA has long been a leader in efforts to enhance the statewide systems response to sexual violence including the development of a sustainable infrastructure that will enable a meaningful and effective medical forensic response to victims/survivors of sexual assault in Minnesota. MNCASA works extensively with communities that do not have or lost SANE services in their service delivery area. We continue to provide technical assistance and training to rural hospitals, building their capacity to provide a competent and compassionate medical response to victims/survivors of sexual assault.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. Earlier years are each on their own filing page.

Nonprofiteer parses Forms 990, 990-EZ and 990-PF, in a window of recent tax years. These returns are recorded from the IRS e-file index, so their figures were extracted by that index rather than read from the return here — treat them as a different source from the filings above, not as more of the same record. A dash means the index carries no figure; Form 990-T listings carry none at all.

Auto-Revocation List
Not listed. The IRS publishes this list for organizations whose exemption was automatically revoked for failing to file for three consecutive years.
Publication 78
Listed as of 13 October 2026, under deductibility PC.
These are two separate IRS files on two separate schedules, shown as published and not reconciled with each other. Neither is a statement about whether a contribution is deductible today: 19,245 organizations appear in Publication 78 while the IRS's own revocation file lists them as currently revoked, more than half of those revoked before 2019. Absence from Publication 78 is evidence of nothing, and presence is not evidence either. Verify current status with the IRS before relying on it.
