We identify needs within our community and respond to them so that the entire community benefits from our efforts. Our mission comes alive through programs that help people appreciate diversity, become better leaders & listeners, develop skills that build self-esteem, health & confidence, have fun with others & learn from them, develop a healthy Spirit, Mind & Body, and reach out to one another to solve problems that the community faces.

  • YOUTH DEVELOPMENT - The Thomasville YMCA is committed to nurturing the potential of every child and teen. We believe all kids have great potential and deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. That's why we help young people cultivate the values, skills, and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health, and educational achievement. Our YMCA programs, such as Youth Sports, Child Care, Summer Camps, and Fit Kids, offer a range of experiences that enrich social-emotional, cognitive and physical growth. Expenses include subsidies and direct financial assistance that make participation possible for many of the young people we engage.

    Expenses $2,747,227 · Revenue $2,162,069

  • HEALTHY LIVING - The Thomasville YMCA is committed to improving health and well-being in our community and beyond. We bring families closer together, encourage good health, and foster connections through fitness, sports, fun, and shared interests. As a result, over 10,000 people in our community and beyond are receiving the support, guidance, and resources they need to achieve greater health in spirit, mind and body. This is particularly important as our nation struggles with chronic disease and obesity, families wrestle with work/life balance, and individuals search for personal fulfillment. Our programs are accessible, affordable, and open to all faiths, backgrounds, abilities, and income levels. In 2025, we provided over $175,000 in financial assistance to people who otherwise may not have been able to afford to participate.

    Expenses $1,896,907 · Revenue $1,457,653

  • SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY - The Thomasville YMCA believes in giving back and supporting our neighbors. We have been listening and responding to our community's most critical social needs for more than 120 years. Y programs, such as Summer Food Services, H.O.P.E. (Helping Oncology Patients Exercise), Silver Sneakers, Preschool Swim Classes, Special Olympics, and Healthy Living Nutrition classes, are examples of how we deliver training, resources, and support that empower our neighbors to effect change, bridge gaps, and overcome obstacles. In 2025, we engaged approximately 10,000 YMCA members, participants, and volunteers in activities that strengthen our community and pave the way for future generations to thrive.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us. Earlier years are each on their own filing page.

Nonprofiteer parses Forms 990, 990-EZ and 990-PF, in a window of recent tax years. These returns are recorded from the IRS e-file index, so their figures were extracted by that index rather than read from the return here — treat them as a different source from the filings above, not as more of the same record. A dash means the index carries no figure; Form 990-T listings carry none at all. Showing the 10 most recent; the API carries the rest.

Grants made

No itemized grants to organizations. Schedule I is filed only by organizations that granted more than $5,000 to a recipient, so most filers have none.

Grants received

The 10 largest by cash amount. The API serves every itemized grant.

Related organizations

From Schedule R Part II, where a filer lists the tax-exempt organizations it is related to by control. It does not record shared board members or money.

Auto-Revocation List

Not listed. The IRS publishes this list for organizations whose exemption was automatically revoked for failing to file for three consecutive years.

Publication 78

Listed as of 13 October 2026, under deductibility PC.

These are two separate IRS files on two separate schedules, shown as published and not reconciled with each other. Neither is a statement about whether a contribution is deductible today: 19,245 organizations appear in Publication 78 while the IRS's own revocation file lists them as currently revoked, more than half of those revoked before 2019. Absence from Publication 78 is evidence of nothing, and presence is not evidence either. Verify current status with the IRS before relying on it.
